After TOKO

From 20-24 May IFES Netherlands had their National Evangelism Conference, called “TOKO”. BHSS was among the few privileged IFES movements who managed to send delegates to the conference.

Main theme of this year’s TOKO was “Warming up”. Main piece of Scripture was 2 Timothy 1:6: “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.’ Every day the two main sessions were held at the so called Zonnehal (Sunny Hall). The Bible Study in the morning was done by the IFES staff-worker Bram van Putten. The evening sessions were given by the famous American evangelist Becky Pippert, author of Out of the Salt Shaker.

After the coffee there were “Reflection Groups” where participants were able to share about what they have just heard. The tracks in the evening covered topics such as Back to the basics: what do you believe?, Christians in career, Meet the internationals, The story of His glory (missions), Warming up for the Big Party, Ask and I will give you the nations (prayer), and Seeker Bible Studies.

Our delegates, Andy (student leader, Varna) and Trif (staff) gave a dinner-bar talk about BHSS Bulgaria and invited the participants to join us at our National Conference in October. We hope that BHSS will be able to start a partnership with IFES Netherlands and that there will be other future joint projects between our two movements.
